Call for Abstracts

MIE in collaboration with the Board of Engineers in readiness for the annual conference to be held from Thursday 18th October to Friday 19th October, 2018 at Nkopola Conference Centre in Mangochi, under the theme, “Championing Sustainable Energy and Water Development” invites abstracts in the following areas:

Energy alternatives
Climate change

Abstracts should be in Microsoft Word, Times Roman font size 12, in single paragraph with a maximum of 300 words and five keywords. The abstracts should include names of authors with their affiliation and corresponding email of main author. The title should be short and informative with a maximum of 20 words in bold, sentence case, centered, and without underlining. Abstracts should be submitted to info@miemw.com

The corresponding author will receive notification of acceptance by 4th July, 2018. Upon notification of acceptance of abstract, the author will submit the full paper.

Submission of abstracts - 25th June 2018
Notification of abstract acceptance - 04th July 2018
Full papers due - 30th April 2017
Full paper notification of acceptance - 22nd August 2018
Submission of full paper - 22nd September 2018
Submission of presentations- 28th September 2018

The papers submitted should not exceed 15 pages inclusive of illustrations. The papers should be in MSWord, produced on A4 paper size in 12 Point Times New Roman font, single line spacing, and in a single column format. The margins must be 35mm on the left and 25mm on the other three sides of the page. The text must be fully justified and paragraphs separated by single line spaces. The referencing style for both in-text and end-text should be in APA (click here to see a template for details).

Submitted papers must contain the following sections as a minimum requirement:-

  1. Title

  2. Name of author(s) and affiliation with email address for lead or corresponding author

  3. About five key words(which must also appear in the abstract)

  4. Main body of the paper

  5. Conclusion

  6. References (APA style)

Review Process and Publication

All papers submitted will be reviewed with respect to overall quality of content, presentation, potential for future impact of presentation on the engineering field, and expected benefits to the other engineering professionals attending the conference. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. The proceedings will also have an ISBN number.
